The Regions Foundation awards $25,000 workforce grant to iJAG
The Regions Foundation, a nonprofit funded primarily by Regions Bank, provided a $25,000 workforce grant to Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) during a surprise ceremony for student leaders Friday at iJAG’s annual Leadership Development Conference. The donation will be used for education and workforce readiness opportunities for more than 7,200 middle school and high school students across the state. The grant is expected to help offset the cost for students to attend conferences and participate in leadership and career workshops, academic competitions and more. The iJAG conference hosted nearly 1,000 student leaders, grades 6-12, who were recently elected by their peers to serve as iJAG officers and members of the iJAG Career Association. During the event, officers participated in trainings, learning new skills and workshops aimed at improving leadership and programming across iJAG classrooms, schools and communities.
