Citigroup Inc. plans to cut up to 50,000 jobs, CNBC television said today. The cuts are on top of the roughly 23,000 jobs that the company already has slashed this year, and would reduce its staff levels to approximately 300,000 employees. Cuts are expected to come from layoffs, the sale of units and attrition.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein and six other top executives will not be receiving cash or stock bonuses for 2008, a spokesman told CNNMoney on Sunday. The seven executives will receive no cash bonuses, no stock and no options for 2008, just their salaries, the company spokesman said.

Central Iowa Shelter and Services’ (CISS) Sack Hunger 2008 will be held on Tuesday during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, which runs Nov. 16-22. CISS plans to set up donation tables in the skywalks.

Bank of America Corp. announced today that it would boost its stake in China’s third-largest bank, China Construction Bank, to 19.1 percent from 10.75 percent, Reuters reported. BofA originally bought a 9 percent stake in the Chinese bank for $3 billion in June 2005, and earlier this year boosted its stake to the current level. Following the purchase, the company would own 44.7 billion H shares of China Construction Bank worth roughly $24 billion, Reuters data showed.

The Iowa Department of Transportation recently launched a new “Traffic Incident” Web site that is accessible from its home page, www.iowadot.gov. The Web site will inform visitors about situations affecting traffic flow on highways maintained by the department, which include interstates, and U.S. or Iowa roadways will be noted. The new site will also allow subscribers to receive the latest traffic incident postings automatically via e-mail or through an RSS feed.
