Tomorrow Plan series shows ‘Citizen Jane’
The Tomorrow Plan Speaker Series, with the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs and Urban Land Institute, will screen “Citizen Jane: Battle for the City” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the State Historical Museum of Iowa. Activist Jane Jacobs worked in the 1960s to save the spirit of Greenwich Village during urban renewal. A reception begins at 5 p.m. Following the 90-minute screening, Sara Andre of the State Historic Preservation Office and Ted Grevstad-Nordbrock, who teaches community and regional planning at Iowa State University, will take questions briefly.
