Trial attorneys to recognize special achievements

101 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawIowa Chief Justice Mark Cady will receive the Iowa Association for Justice Judicial Achievement Award during the association’s annual luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown. Cady is being recognized for three decades of service as a trial and appellate court judge and jurist, according to a release. Also, IAJ’s Roxanne Conlin Public Justice Award will be presented to Mark Smith and the Office of the State Appellate Defender for their work before the Iowa Supreme Court in cases that eliminated unreasonable and unconstitutional juvenile sentences. IAJ is an organization of approximately 700 trial attorneys.
