UI draws dozens of apps for president position

With several weeks to go before the July 31 deadline, the University of Iowa has drawn dozens of applications and nominations for university president. So far, 11 candidates have submitted applications, 16 have said they plan to, and another 45 are considering the position. In addition, 115 have been nominated. The process to replace Sally Mason continues with a July 30 telephone meeting of the search committee and an Aug. 4 meeting on campus. The panel will conduct interviews Aug. 11-12 in Chicago. Finalists will visit campus Aug. 31-Sept. 3 and meet with the Iowa Board of Regents on Sept. 4. Read more
