United Way of Central Iowa has collected more than 27,000 children’s books through its annual Stuff the Bus campaign. The donations will be distributed to over 100 child care centers, in-home providers and youth programs across Polk, Dallas and Warren counties over the next week. The campaign concluded May 12 with a public drop-off event at Athene’s West Des Moines headquarters, and Ruan Transportation Management Systems will manage logistics and delivery. This year’s efforts focused on books for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, supporting United Way’s strategic focuses of early childhood success and education success.
