UnityPoint Health names new leader of cardiovascular services

In his new role, George will lead clinical strategy and oversight for heart and vascular care across the system’s Midwest network, working with Sharese Van Sloten, vice president of operations for cardiovascular services. George currently serves as system vice president of acute care services for OhioHealth and previously held leadership roles within OhioHealth’s heart and vascular service line. Board certified in cardiovascular disease, he specializes in outpatient general, preventive, and noninvasive cardiology. “Dr. George’s hands-on experience managing heart care for patients and his proven leadership in a large, complex health system make him ideally suited to lead our cardiovascular teams,” Dr. Gregory R. Johnson, chief medical officer at UnityPoint Health, said in a prepared statement.
