UnityPoint Health – Des Moines has opened a new outpatient pharmacy, located in the Plaza Atrium at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, 1212 Pleasant St., Suite 109. The goal is to expand access to prescription services for downtown residents, hospital visitors and patients. The pharmacy offers prescription fulfillment, over-the-counter medications, personal care items, medication counseling and prescription transfer services. The pharmacy is open to everyone; a previous relationship with UnityPoint is not required, a news release said. The site will also soon function as a Milk Depot in partnership with the Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa, enabling approved donors to drop off breast milk for processing and redistribution to infants in need.
