UnityPoint Health unveils 2019’s most popular baby names

114 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, Health and WellnessCounting all of its variations for both boys and girls, Charlie was the most popular baby name in 2019 for newborns at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines hospitals. Whether it was spelled Charley, Charleigh or even Charlotte, the popular name was chosen by 41 families for their little bundle of joy. For boys, Jack/Jackson and other variations was the most common name, given to 35 babies. Also popular were Will/William (chosen 23 times) and Oliver (22). For girls, Harper (21) and Averi/Averie/Avery (13) were the most popular. Year-to-date through Dec. 1, 5,089 babies have been born at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines’ three hospitals (Iowa Methodist, Methodist West and Iowa Lutheran), up about 9% over year-to-date 2018 births.
