Retail Acquisition & Development Inc. (RAD) plans to expand its warehouse operations in Urbandale to add an estimated 57 new jobs. RAD sells and distributes automotive batteries to approximately 180 All Battery Center retail stores and for online orders. The company plans to renovate 15,000 square feet of existing office space,convert 30,000 square feet of warehouse space into offices and renovate an additional 15,000 square feet for manufacturing, quality assurance and packaging. The city of Urbandale has approved a sales and use tax refund of up to $95,040 on purchases related to the renovation of its building at 4301 121st St. RAD currently employs more than 150 people.
