Cedar Rapids-based electrical and mechanical supplier Van Meter Inc. has been named to Training magazine’s “Training Top 125” list. The international ranking is conducted annually to assess and recognize excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs. More than 500 companies were up for consideration. Van Meter, which was the only Iowa-based company on the list, claimed the 125th spot for 2016. Among the major companies on the list are Aetna Inc., AT&T Inc., Best Buy Co. Inc. and ConAgra Foods Inc. The ranking is based on benchmarking statistics such as total training budget, percentage of payroll and number of training hours per employee program as well as goals, evaluation, measurement and workplace surveys.
