Hubbell Realty Co. is planning a new 13,840-square-foot building west of the new Hy-Vee Inc. supermarket in Altoona.

The one-story commercial and retail flex space building has been approved by the Altoona Planning and Zoning Commission and will appear on the City Council’s agenda on Dec. 17.

Jarad Bernstein, a spokesman for Hubbell Realty, said the building will house five to eight tenants.

Bernstein said his company would not reveal the cost of the building and will wait for city council approval before releasing a construction timetable.
