Veridian Credit Union opens nominations for $50,000 in Giving Tuesday donations

130 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyVeridian Credit Union is seeking public nominations for its annual Giving Tuesday initiative, through which it will distribute $50,000 across five nonprofit organizations. From now until Nov. 9, people can nominate eligible nonprofits that address affordable housing, basic human needs, inclusion, employment readiness, or financial literacy. One organization from each of Veridian’s five market areas — Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Des Moines, Omaha/Council Bluffs, and the Twin Cities — will be randomly selected to receive $10,000 on Dec. 2. “Veridian was founded on the need to support our communities and the people in them,” Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer said in a prepared statement. “We celebrate Giving Tuesday because it’s an opportunity for us to encourage and inspire each other to strengthen the communities we share.”
