Warren County leaders say their region represents a great “product” for businesses considering expansion in Greater Des Moines. Now, they have a new logo and a strategy to more aggressively sell Warren County.

At an event held last night at Simpson College in Indianola, Warren County Economic Development Corp. officials unveiled a new slogan, “Naturally Set for Your Success,” which emphasizes the county’s accessibility to transportation and the availability of recreational assets such as bicycle trails and two state parks.

Among the goals of the newly developed three-year economic development plan are to increase the number of “shovel-ready” sites available for development and to generate at least 20 site visits by companies per year.

“The plan is to build upon recent successes,” said Indianola Mayor Jerry Kelley, a WCEDC board member. Among those successes have been the recent completion of the Hillcrest Industrial Park in Indianola and expansions at companies such as La Quercia in Norwalk and DataVision Inc. in Carlisle.

The plan was developed in collaboration with a broad base of public and private-sector leaders from throughout the region, said Tiffany Coleman, the WCEDC’s executive director.
