Water main break closes Fourth Street downtown
A water main break Saturday near Java Joes and the Royal Mile hit just as the Des Moines farmers market was ending and sent patrons of underground Bernardo’s restaurant scrambling, the Des Moines Register reported. The street was still closed today and cleanup continued. Some businesses had reopened and planned to return to Fourth Street for this week’s farmers market if the water main repair is finished.
