The 200-acre project site is located west of Waukee. The master plan, created by RDG Planning & Design, includes fields for youth and adult baseball and softball, soccer, football, rugby/lacrosse, cricket, sand volleyball and disc golf. The complex also is slated to offer outdoor recreation opportunities such as trails, miniature golf, a playground, a lakeside terrace, an outdoor performance pavilion and a multi-purpose stadium.

The city determined the size and number of fields based on the projected needs for sports teams and organizations in the area. Time frames for the project, including the start and completion dates, have not been determined.
