The Weitz Co. has announced the promotion of Andy Gardner to vice president overseeing preconstruction operations for its Iowa commercial and mission critical divisions in addition to his ongoing role as preconstruction director. Gardner, a 25-year veteran of the firm, has managed preconstruction strategy for major projects including the Iowa Events Center, Prairie Meadows Casino and the QTS Data Center in Cedar Rapids. His leadership now extends across more than $2.8 billion in national data center construction work. “Andy’s leadership experience and expanded scope of work mark the start of another great chapter in his remarkable career,” Kevin McClain, CEO and president of Weitz Co., said in a prepared statement. “We are thrilled to see him continue to contribute to the success of the company and bring his extensive expertise to commercial and data center clients around the country.”
