West Des Moines hires deputy city manager

Jamie Letzring has been hired as deputy city manager for West Des Moines. She will start work March 14 at an annual salary of $130,000, according to a release. Since January 2013, Letzring has been the Oelwein city administrator. “She reacts quickly to changing conditions and she enjoys a fast-paced environment, so I’m confident she’ll be an excellent fit for our growing community,” City Manager Tom Hadden said in the release. Letzring also has worked as city administrator and economic development director in Sherburn, Minn. She has a master’s degree in public administration from Drake University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from Simpson College.
