World Food Prize launches digital series ahead of Borlaug Dialogue
The Word Food Prize Foundation has announced its first virtual series, designed to address important issues in developing a resilient global food system. The first discussion of the Digital Dialogue series will focus on immediate challenges facing the world during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday and will feature:
- Catherine Bertini – distinguished fellow, Chicago Council on Global Affairs; 2003 World Food Prize Laureate.
- Shenggen Fan – professor, China Agricultural University; World Food Prize Foundation Council of Advisors.
- David Nabarro – special envoy of WHO director general on COVID-19; 2018 World Food Prize Laureate.
- Barbara Stinson – president, World Food Prize Foundation.
Future dialogues will feature World Food Prize Laureates and experts who will talk about the vulnerabilities and opportunities for effective responses at the global, national and local levels. The Digital Dialogue series will engage leaders and experts in the months leading up to the Norman E. Borlaug Symposium, known as the Borlaug Dialogue, which is scheduled for Oct. 14-20 in Des Moines.
