$28.2 million in community development block grants awarded
The Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) has awarded $28.2 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to 86 communities across the state, the agency announced Monday. The federally funded grants will be used to fund community facilities, infrastructure improvements and single-family owner-occupied housing rehabilitation. CDBG funds will leverage more than $34 million in local funds from Iowa’s communities. The IDED received 141 applications totaling more than $44.2 million in funding requests.
