Six Iowa craft breweries were awarded 17 medals at the 2025 U.S. Open Beer Championship, including the Brewery of the Year award. The best beers in each category were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals at a ceremony in Oxford, Ohio. Winning breweries included Full Fledged Brewing Co., Toppling Goliath Brewing Co., Flix Brewhouse, Big Grove Brewery, Exile Brewing Co. and Confluence Brewing Co., which received the Brewery of the Year award. “From dark to light, from spicy to sweet, these medals represent a huge range of flavors and styles” Iowa Brewers Guild executive director, Noreen Otto, said in a prepared statement. “Our whole Iowa brewing community is celebrating these wins and one of our own being recognized as Brewery of the Year!” The U.S. Open Beer Championship included 8,000 entries from breweries across the nation and world in more than 170 categories.
