The William C. Knapp Charitable Foundation has donated $75,000 to replace the 20-year-old playground equipment in Evelyn K. Davis Park on Forest Avenue. Knapp Properties and the Des Moines Police Department plan to install equipment Wednesday. A complimentary hot dog lunch will be provided for area residents, along with face-painting and children’s activities. “At Knapp Properties, we understand that a thriving metro depends upon a strong central core. Investing in the Evelyn K. Davis Park is one way our team is working to improve the heart of our city,” said Knapp President and COO Chris Costa. The crews also will repaint the shelter and restrooms.
