Every year, Ikea Group and INKGA Holding publishes a research report on how people live in and relate to aspects of their homes. While years past have looked back on subjects like morning routines or food and kitchens, this year’s report asked people where they felt most at home — touching on themes of loneliness, belonging and city living, reports Fast Company. Of surprise: 35 percent of people who live in cities don’t feel at home in their house or apartment. Forty-five percent of Americans escape to their car for a private moment to themselves; 72 percent escape to the bedroom and 55 percent to the bathroom for the same reasons. “Life at home is changing, profoundly, all over the world,” the report says.
