Annual Iowa Academy Ball canceled, but fundraising still planned
Iowa All Services Foundation announced that despite the cancellation of its Annual Iowa All Academy Ball normally held in late December, the organization will still raise funds to donate to Iowa veterans. Proceeds from the yearly event to honor Iowa-based cadets, midshipmen and graduates of all five United States Military Academies are donated to veterans’ charities. Although there will be no event this year due to COVID-19, “the silver lining is our efforts to raise even more money to support veteran organizations,” said Rachel Breyfogle, Iowa All Academy Ball Committee chair. Half of this year’s donations will benefit the Puppy Jake Foundation, which trains service dogs for wounded warriors, and the Iowa Veterans Home. Iowa All Services Foundation is focusing its fundraising efforts around the holiday season, starting with Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1. Anyone may donate by visiting the organization’s website.
