ISU receives regents approval for Doctorate of Education program

135 wordsAll Latest News, Education, Statewide NewsIowa State University announced it will launch a Doctorate of Education program aimed at preparing educational leaders to support educational opportunities in systems from preschool through doctoral education, or “P-20” education. Students who complete the program will be prepared to work as superintendents in pre-K-12 school districts and as leaders at community colleges or state departments of education as well as in other educational development agencies. The Iowa Board of Regents this week approved the new degree program, which will offer two professional tracks, one for community college leadership and one for systems-level leadership. Participants will study as a group throughout the three-year, eight-semester program. The first cohort will start classes in August 2019. Information about application for the program and deadlines will be available on the ISU School of Education website by Dec. 3.
