Des Moines house sales dipped in November; prices continued to rise

119 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentGreater Des Moines home sales dipped a tad in November from October but were above year-ago numbers, the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors said. Median sales prices continued to climb, rising to $196,000 last month from $191,200 in October and $189,000 in November 2017. Sales dropped to 1,110 in November from 1,141 in October but were above the 1,085 in November 2017. Houses that sold last month had been on the market an average of 49 days, same as the previous month. The number of properties on the market held steady for the third consecutive month at 3,800, up from 3,357 in November 2017. Pending sales dropped to 836 from 1,289 in October and 997 a year ago.
