Perdue: U.S.-China trade negotiations ‘heartening’
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said trade negotiations between the United States and China have been “heartening” but have a long way to go, Successful Farming reported. Meanwhile, China was following through on a pledge, announced at the White House, to buy as much as 4 million metric tons of soybeans, worth $1.35 billion. President Donald Trump set a March 1 deadline to increase tariffs on Chinese products if there is no agreement.
