A five-student management team from Central Campus in Des Moines was crowned the state champion in the management portion of the 2019 Iowa ProStart Invitational hosted by the Iowa Restaurant Association Education Foundation. The team advances to the national invitational and will represent Iowa in Washington, D.C., on May 8-10. They will compete against winning teams from across the county for the national title as well as for scholarship opportunities. The Central Campus team competed against management teams from across the state to create and pitch a restaurant concept to a panel of Iowa restaurant industry professionals who posed as potential investors. Hampton-Dumont High School won the culinary competition.
