IEDA, IFA send $2M to Marshalltown for disaster recovery
The Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Finance Authority will provide a combined $2 million for Marshalltown’s recovery efforts following last year’s tornado. Commercial and residential properties are eligible for the funding, which is for redevelopment, rehabilitation or removal of buildings and to boost downtown. More than 100 of Marshalltown’s historic downtown structures were damaged in the July storm. Veterans Memorial Coliseum will be restored. Habitat for Humanity is assisting in the recovery.
