Variety raises record-breaking $226,325 through Polo on the Green fundraising campaign
Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa raised a record amount through its virtual fundraising campaign that replaced its annual Polo on the Green fundraiser, which was canceled this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. In a news release, Variety announced it had raised $226,325 through its monthlong donor-designated giving campaign held in July. The campaign was held after Variety called off this year’s fundraiser, an event that has been attended by as many as 500 people in the past. The Polo on the Green fundraiser conducts a Fund-a-Need campaign, focusing on one area of giving to support, but this year, through the donor-designated campaign, Variety was able to meet a broader range of needs that face children by directing funds to multiple areas, organizers said. “We are extremely grateful for the support we received from the community and even more excited to be able to continue giving back to children in Iowa,” organizers said in a release.
