Gov. Reynolds announces $2M in CARES funding for COVID-19 nanovaccine development in Iowa

86 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and Law, Health and WellnessThe state is designating $2 million in CARES Act funding to support development of a COVID-19 ‘nanovaccine’ through a partnership between Iowa State University and the University of Iowa, Gov. Kim Reynolds announced on Thursday. Funding will support a research team drawing from the Nanovaccine Institute at Iowa State University, the Pathology Research Flow Cytometry Core at the UI Carver College of Medicine and private industry partners in the state to develop a COVID-19 nanovaccine candidate that will address the limitations of vaccines already under development.
