Goodwill of Central Iowa teamed up with several Central Iowa colleges this spring to help students move out of their dorm rooms and apartments, while also helping the environment and local communities. Participating in this year’s partnership were Central College, Drake University, Grand View University, Grinnell College and Iowa State University. Through Goodwill Campus Move-Out, students can donate items they don’t need to a worthy cause. In total, the campus partnerships kept 72,800 pounds of items out of Central Iowa landfills and will provide an estimated 3,640 hours of training for individuals with barriers to employment enrolled in Goodwill programming. “We know that Generation Z is passionate about our environment and the impact they leave. We witness that through their consistent donations to our college town store locations throughout the year,” said Jackie Norris, president and CEO of Goodwill of Central Iowa. “Goodwill Campus Move-Out takes the idea to the next level.”
