Iowa unemployment rate steady
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stayed at 2.4% in July, a tick below the 2.5% of a year ago. The number of unemployed Iowans rose to 41,400 in June from 40,700 in May. That number now stands at 800 below last year’s level. Iowa added 5,600 jobs. July marked the 12th straight month of 2.4 percent unemployment, among the lowest rates in the country.
