Pithan announces bid for Urbandale council seat

117 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawPat Pithan, board chairman of the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce, announced that he is running for a seat on the Urbandale City Council. Three seats are on the Nov. 5 ballot. Current council members Michael Carver, Creighton Cox and Tom Gayman have all announced that they aren’t seeking reelection. Pithan is director of sales and consulting for Urbandale’s MMIT Business Solution, where he has worked since 1986. Areas of interest for Pithan include continuing discussions on revitalizing downtown Urbandale; maintaining and updating stormwater infrastructure; and supporting public services including police, fire and emergency medical services. “I am passionate about seeing that Urbandale continue to live up to its brand ‘Uniquely Urbandale,’” Pithan said in a news release.
