The Wellmark Foundation has notified 19 Iowa organizations that they will receive Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grants up to $25,000, contingent upon securing the matching funds. Among the grant recipients is Friends of the Terrain Therapy Garden, which will receive $25,000 for the VA Terrain Therapy Garden in Des Moines, a project to construct an outdoor physical therapy garden that can be used by VA patients who are relearning how to walk and move. The garden will be a public space benefiting patients, families and neighborhood residents. To ensure community support for these projects, organizations are challenged to match the grant at 50%.
