Iowa unemployment rate remains at 2.5%
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2.5% in September, up slightly from 2.4% a year ago. The U.S. rate was 3.5% in September. The number of unemployed Iowans increased to 44,200 in September from 43,800 in August. That’s up 4,200 from a year ago. The number of working Iowans stood at 1,694,200 in September. This figure was 7,900 higher than August and 45,200 higher than one year ago.
