Des Moines Register: Classes were canceled today at Saydel High School “due to lack of available staff,” according to a message posted on the Saydel Community School District’s website. Woodside Middle School and Cornell Elementary School remained open, the message said. With 16 staff members out at the high school today, it was “impossible to carry out programs and services in a safe manner for our student population,” Saydel Superintendent Todd Martin said. The Saydel Community School District is located on the north side of Des Moines, in unincorporated Polk County.
