But as thrifting grows more popular, mostly among millennial and Gen Z shoppers, it’s not such an odd idea anymore, reports the Associated Press. Although the gifts are not brand-new, they are valued for being one-of-a-kind, and more often cost-friendly and sustainable. Resold luxury items are even a reality now, with sites like the RealReal, which saw a jump of 60% in holiday orders last year. Resale can also be useful for brands or independent resellers to sell new items that are scarce and not in stock at brick-and-mortar stores, and with more resale sites popping up in addition to eBay and Facebook Marketplace, some shoppers are becoming experts in surfing resale sites and grabbing the best deals.
