American adds nonstop flight to Miami

The flights will leave Des Moines on Saturdays and Sundays, with return flights Fridays and Saturdays. Kayla Kovarna, the Des Moines airport’s communications, marketing and air service development manager, said the flights to Miami International Airport will be cater to sun seekers and provide a good link to the Caribbean and Central and South America. Flights will be on an Embraer 175 with 12 first-class seats and 64 main cabin seats. Miami is the 17th-most frequented destination out of Des Moines with 52,116 passengers a year. American is the Des Moines airport’s largest carrier, with 32% of passengers and seven nonstop destinations.
