Ankeny’s Firetrucker Brewery announces death of founder, brewmaster Heiderscheit

76 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and Culture, Statewide NewsDes Moines Register: Firetrucker Brewery founder and brewmaster Dan Heiderscheit died this week, the brewery announced Thursday. In a Facebook post, the brewery said “no words can adequately express our sadness at Dan’s passing or capture our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him.” Heiderscheit founded Firetrucker in 2014 with co-owners Neil Zaugg and Scott Kaven. The three of them opened the brewery in a former Ankeny firehouse on the Fourth of July that year.
