Holmes Murphy president to present on health care costs, politics
Health insurance industry veteran Den Bishop will headline a discussion next week at Holmes Murphy’s headquarters in Waukee. Bishop, president of Holmes Murphy, will speak on U.S. health care reform initiatives and approaches to addressing health care costs, with an effort to objectively assess candidates’ approaches to health care in advance of the 2020 Democratic caucuses in Iowa. “To adequately address the massive healthcare challenge, we must be willing to set aside our individual partisan prejudice to discuss this important political issue without undue bias,” Bishop writes in the introduction of his new book, “The Voter’s Guide to Healthcare: A Non-Partisan, Candid and Relevant Look at Politics & Healthcare in America.” Bishop, who leads Holmes Murphy’s Employee Benefits practice, is also the co-founder of ACAP HealthWorks, a consulting firm focused on measurably improving health. He also is a member of the Council of Employee Benefits Experts and speaks nationally on the topics of health care cost, coverage and complexity. The event, scheduled Jan. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Holmes Murphy, is free but registration is requested. For more information and to register, click here.
