The Partnership’s Gene Meyer is a proud papa. His son, 1998 Valley High School grad Adam Meyer, was just named provost of the Juilliard School, the prestigious New York City-based private performing arts conservatory. In addition to currently serving as director of the music division, Adam is the Title IX coordinator and has spent the past nine years as part of the administration. Adam holds a master’s degree from the school, is a violist himself and is the founding violist of the award-winning Bryant Park String Quartet. From the school’s president: “He has shown the ability to move forward important new initiatives emphasizing creativity and inclusivity while maintaining and reinforcing the core strengths that are the hallmarks of Julliard.” Maybe his musical talents come from his father … but then again, there was no mention in the official school statement about the origins of Adam’s musical talent.
