Outdoor storage restrictions tightening

Transportation corridors that are beneficial for distribution will be increasingly viewed as gateways to communities. In turn, outdoor storage restrictions will continue to tighten, making it more difficult for heavy commercial and light industrial uses to utilize those locations.

Warehouses built for distribution purposes will be used instead as office space or showrooms, and will host a variety of recreational offerings. In Grimes, we already see high-cube warehouses being used like Class A office space, retail showrooms, trampoline parks, indoor go-kart tracks, and for sports and fitness. Those uses will drive a need for higher architectural standards and more parking to make the facilities more accessible.

In 10 years warehouses will be gathering spaces where people will be able to share entertainment experiences. They might even incorporate public art features.
