The city of Johnston’s Zoning and Subdivision Code update is near completion and ready for public input. While the city adopted Johnston’s zoning ordinance in 1982, it has not been updated until now. “We have been busy the past 18 months to ensure the Zoning and Subdivision Code updates are modernized to better fit with how our community desires to grow as envisioned in our Thrive 2040 Comprehensive Plan,” said Community Development Director David Wilwerding in a press release. The city has released a full draft code for public review and comment, along with an informational website that provides an executive summary of the proposed changes. The public can view the draft at Johnston Zoning and Subdivision Code Update.
