Des Moines Performing Arts announces 2015-16 season

198 wordsAll Latest News, Arts and CultureAt its annual season announcement event Monday night, Des Moines Performing Arts unveiled the full schedule of shows and performances for its 2015-16 season, including the announcement that “The Bridges of Madison County: The Musical” will kick off its national tour this November at the Des Moines Civic Center.
“The Bridges of Madison County” is one of five musicals included in the 2015-16 Willis Broadway Series. Other shows, which will make up the organization’s season ticket package, are “Dirty Dancing,” “Disney’s Newsies,” “Cabaret,” and “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder.”
The Broadway Series will also offer five add-on shows: “The Illusionists – Witness the Impossible,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Riverdance – The 20th Anniversary World Tour,” “Annie” and “The Book of Mormon.”
The 2015-16 season also features a special performance by two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster.
In addition to the Broadway Series, Des Moines Performing Arts announced the shows that will be included in the Prairie Meadows Temple Comedy Series, the Dance Series and the Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield Family Series.
