The Ankeny City Council has approved an $100,000 economic development package for Advanced Analytical Technologies Inc.’s $2 million relocation and expansion. AATI plans to lease a 33,000-square-foot building at 2450 S.E. Oak Tree Court for its worldwide headquarters, according to a release. The company plans to relocate 44 jobs from the Ames Research Park and add another 57 jobs in Ankeny over the next three years. Under the city’s Local Business Investment policy, the loan will assist with improvements to the new location, with 50 percent forgivable if the company creates 24 jobs that pay an hourly wage greater than $31.91. On March 27, the Iowa Economic Development Authority approved $500,000 in direct financial assistance as well as tax incentives through the High Quality Jobs program. AATI develops, manufactures and markets high-throughput, fully automated nucleic acid and genetic analysis systems for the pharmaceutical, life science, agricultural, biofuels, clinical and research markets.
