March house sales up nearly 19 percent from last year

83 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentGreater Des Moines house sales were up 18.6 percent in March from a year ago, rising to 872 from 735, according to figures released today by the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. Pending sales increased to 1,486 from 1,004 in February and 1,148 in March 2014. The median sales price last month was $164,250, up from $154,959 in the previous month and $148,500 last year. The number of properties currently for sale is up 5 percent from a month ago to 3,381.
