Turquoise takeover illuminates lung cancer awareness
The American Lung Association in Iowa is lighting up several landmarks across the state in turquoise this week in a move to unite women to stand together in the fight against lung cancer. The Financial Center at 666 Walnut St. will be illuminated turquoise rather than blue this week as part of the association’s nationwide Lung Force Turquoise Takeover. The Iowa Cubs’ new scoreboard at Principal Park will display messages during the weekend games and be illuminated for several hours following the games. The initiative seeks to raise awareness and action about lung cancer; educate and empower patients and health care providers; and raise critical funds for lung cancer research.
