Mid-America index predicts slow growth
A June survey shows many expect slower economic growth for Iowa and other Midwestern states, the Associated Press reported. The survey report issued today shows the Mid-America Business Conditions Index rose to 53.0, from 50.4 in May and 52.7 in April. The survey found improved housing, retail sales and hiring. The results from supply managers are compiled into a collection of indexes ranging from zero to 100. A score above 50 suggests economic growth. Read more
