DART will donate three retired RideShare vans to nonprofit organizations, community groups or government agencies within its service area this fall. Organizations seeking to receive a van must apply by Sept. 11. The van donation program is an annual process that DART began in 2014. “There are people not yet served by DART who have unmet transit needs,” DART General Manager Elizabeth Presutti said in a release. “We hope that granting retired RideShare vanpool vehicles to these organizations helps meet some of these needs, providing better public transportation within DART’s service area with a pay-it-forward spirit.” The application, rules and requirements, and selection criteria for the program are available online under “Applications.”
